This year we have a new 5th Grade leadership program led by Mrs. McCartt. Meet our Tiger Troop!
You may have noticed our 5th grade students in yellow vests in the café, 5th grade hallway, and out front during morning bus duty. They greet and help our younger students in the morning and learn about being a leader.
Mrs. McCartt says, “This is a voluntary placement for our students. They are required to be in good academic and
behavioral standing to be a fifth-grade leader. I hope this may evolve into an even larger opportunity to lead in our building. I will meet with each group a once or twice during their time on duty to discuss ways to make improvements to our job. They know to go to their posts, place on their vests, and go to work after arrival/breakfast. Each placement will last around 10-12 school days, then a new group will take over their duties.”
Duties include:
•Helping in the cafeteria lines with younger students
